THE Wainwright Memorial Lecture is to take place on Saturday, 7th October.

Clive Hutchby (pictured), author of The Wainwright Companion, will be delivering the lecture, at Rheged, near Penrith.

Hutchby has been walking in Wainwrights footsteps, whilst revising his Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells. Books one, two, three and four have already been published, and Clive is undertaking the research for Book Five: The Northern Fells, throughout this year.

Clive first visited the Lake District aged 12, climbing Catbells during a holiday. Formerly a newspaper journalist, he is now a writer, photographer and designer, living in the Lake District.

Tickets for the lecture are available from the box office at Rheged (01768 868000).
