Anderson pushes back the years to retain European title
MOTOCROSS star Brad Anderson pushed back the years — and ignored a broken finger — as he raced to his second successive European championship victory in Italy last week.
The 37-year-old from Great Salkeld became the 2018 EMX300 European champion after finishing five points ahead of his nearest rival after the final round.
He went to Imola with a 27-point championship lead, and finished sixth overall at the Italian circuit, with a fifth and a ninth place. Dutchman Mike Kras took both race wins, but it was not enough as Brad retained the title on his Verde Substance KTM, giving British fans something to celebrate.
However, it was far from plain sailing as he suffered a broken finger before the meeting.
