Kim smashes 100-mile race record

EDEN’S Kim Collison smashed the course record for the 100-mile Arc of Attrition — an extreme winter footrace on the Cornish coast.

The 38-year-old former Outward Bound instructor, who lives at Mungrisdale, set a time of 20 hours, 43 minutes for the race — the previous record was was 21.25.01, set in 2017.

The Raidlight Arc of Attrition is a point-to-point race from Coverack to Porthtowan, taking in 100 miles of stunning and dramatic Cornish coast path, and completes an arc around the entire south west foot of Cornwall. It has a strict 36-hour cut-off, and, with checkpoints approximate-ly 20 miles apart, competitors need the ability to be self-sufficient for long periods of time.
