Caldbeck robbery

Date: Thursday 28th September 2017

POLICE are investigating a robbery at Caldbeck on Tuesday.

The incident occurred shortly after 3-15pm following an argument over the payment method for the relaying of tarmac on a driveway.

Police say a 65-year-old man was attempting to write registration numbers in his notebook when he was threatened by a man, aged in his mid 20s, who then stole the notebook and made off in a white Ford Transit van. The victim was not injured.

Police describe the man in his 20s as white, of slim build with very short light brown hair. He also had a scar down the middle of his forehead.

Police would like to hear from anyone who has been approached by a man who claims to be called Walter regarding the relaying of tarmac on a driveway.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Cumbria police on the 101 number.
