Crash closes M6 southbound carriageway

A COLLISION involving an HGV and a car closed the southbound carriageway of the M6 between Tebay and Sedbergh.

Police were called at 8-23am today to the crash, which occurred between Junction 38 at Tebay and Junction 37 at Sedbergh.

The driver of the Renault Grand Scenic vehicle is a man in his 30s from Whitehaven. Police say nobody was seriously injured.

Lanes were closed while emergency services attended the scene. Lanes one and two reopened within the hour and lane three remained closed to allow for vehicle recovery.
