Eden firm’s link with Olympic champions

Date: Tuesday 14th March 2017

EDEN business A.W. Jenkinson Forest Products has become a new sponsor for Olympic dressage champion Carl Hester.

The deal includes the Clifton-based business supplying Hester’s yard in Gloucestershire with its premium woodshavings product, Natural Flake.

The shavings are now being used as bedding for Carl’s champion horses — including Valegro, who made history with rider Charlotte Dujardin at the 2016 Rio Olympics by winning their second Olympic gold individual medal together.

Richard Jenkinson, sales and marketing manager of A.W. Jenkinson Forest Products, said: “It was an easy decision to become involved with Carl Hester as he has one of the highest equestrian profiles in the world and will be a great ambassador for our product. We aim to make the best quality bedding for horses and Carl’s image fitted the bill perfectly.”

The Natural Flake bedding is manufactured at the company’s Haweswater Road site in Penrith and is its premium, dust-extracted woodshaving.

A.W. Jenkinson Forest Products also supplies Natural Flake to the British Dressage National Finals and the Winter Finals, and this support helps to cement the reputation of the business among the highest ranks of the equestrian world.
