Keswick town centre falls and trips shock

THERE have been hundreds of slips, trips and falls in Keswick town centre since 2004 as a result of badly designed kerbing.

The revelation comes in a report from an independent consultant commissioned by the town council to carry out a study into the design of Market Square and reports of high numbers of falls in which no vehicles were involved.

The report references previous road safety audits which raised the issue of pedestrian trips and falls and recommended remedial measures.
