New signings boost for Blues

Date: Wednesday 7th November 2018

PENRITH AFC have confirmed the signing of Carlisle United first year professionals Max Brown and Kieron Olsen on a month-long loan deal.

Striker Brown, 19, and 18-year-old defender/midfielder Olsen met with Blues boss Andy Coyles yesterday, and are vying for a place in the squad for Saturday's Northern League Division I game against West Auckland Town (3pm kick-off).

"They are looking for game time. We’re looking to give them at least four to five weeks of game time," Coyles told the Herald after his side's thrilling county cup win at Carlisle City last night.

"Hopefully they can strengthen us and hopefully they can give us a bit of confidence and quality on the ball. I’m looking forward to welcoming them into the team.

"We met just before the cup game. They sound like two smashing lads. I’m certainly looking forward to working with them.

"If I can help improve and develop them and push them back into the Carlisle set-up and progress then so be it."

Grant Davidson, Shaun Gardner and Adam Robley were the men on target for Penrith in the 3-2 second round success over City.
