THE father of a boy who was sexually abused on-line by a man has labelled his abuser “a perverted monster who should never be allowed to walk the streets again”.

Christopher Hodder (31), Union Square, Kirkby Stephen, was jailed for four years at Carlisle Crown Court after he admitted 19 child sex offences. These included grooming 13 victims on-line, possessing child abuse images and breaching a previously imposed sexual offences prevention order.

Eight of the offences were committed against teenaged boys in Cumbria — some of whom Hodder met while working as a circus skills instructor with youth groups. He also met one victim while performing at Kendal Calling music festival.

In each case Hodder posed as a teenaged girl on the Facebook social networking site and tricked the victims into sending him naked images of themselves and videos of them performing sex acts.
