Penrith masterplan vote drama

THE proposed masterplan for Penrith, which has generated a torrent of opposition, could go out for full public consultation following a knife edge vote at last night’s meeting of Eden Council.

A proposed amendment, that the masterplan be subject to an official public consultation, including the option to reject it, was put to the vote — resulting in a tie, with council chairman Mary Robinson using her casting vote to back the amendment.
