POLICE are appealing for information after a suspected scammer targeted elderly people in Penrith.
In the area of Bridge Lane on Wednesday, a man wearing an ID card and a sweatshirt displaying a logo claimed to be in the area fitting direct links from care alarms to the police.
Police say it appears the man was visiting elderly residents and offering to provide this installation for a fee.
Inquiries made by police have revealed this is likely to be a scam and members of the public are asked to remain vigilant and alert to any such cold callers who may contact them by visiting their address or by phone.
Contact police on 101 with information.
