POPULAR Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton, from Kirkby Thore, is supporting a regional photography challenge called “Life Through the Lens”.

The on-line competition has been devised by the North West Year of Health and Wellbeing, and aims to improve the mental health and general wellbeing of the whole of the region with a particular emphasis on Cumbria.

A panel of top UK photographers will judge the entries in October. Categories include schools, young people, camera clubs, adults and people’s choice.
