Parish council to take over Brough reading room?

AT Brough Parish Council’s February meeting, Phil Jones, on behalf of the reading room committee, asked if the building could be given to the parish council. He explained some history of the building, which was given to the village as a reading room in 1903 by Tom Wilkinson.

AT the February meeting of Penrith Mothers’ Union Afternoon Group, Mrs. Gill Dixon welcomed everyone and the meeting opened with a moment’s silence in memory of Mrs. Joyce Muirhead. Prayers followed for the work of the Mothers’ Union worldwide and for loving relationships. There was a Bible reading and a hymn.
