Upper Eden is staggered, too

SO, Cumbria County Council is “staggered” by the vehement opposition to its plans to close six household waste recycling centres across the county, including that at Kirkby Stephen. Residents of Upper Eden in particular are staggered, too, that the council should have come up with proposals that would have led to an increase in fly-tipping and resulted in people making more car journeys in order to recycle their unwanted items.

In Hull a seven-year-old boy was branded a racist and a bigot for asking the simple, harmless and obvious question of another child at school whether he was “brown because he was from Africa”.
