Stainton villagers who raised funds for the cancer scanner.

Stainton villagers look on as David Llewellyn and Jack Hetherington, secretary and chairman, respectively, of the village’s children’s sports committee, present a cheque for £1,000 to Mrs. Sylvia Ingham, of Penrith, representing the Cumbria Cancer Scanner Fund. The money was raised by a special group formed in Stainton and involving representatives of village organisations and clubs.
