Borrowdale, much of which is cared for by National Trust, has the largest area of native woodland out of all the Lake District valleys, and arguably is the best place to see autumn colour in the Lakes. However, with the onset of bad weather battering the UK, the chance to witness the eye-catching colours of the season diminishes as strong winds start to strip the trees to their winter frames.
