A LITTER pick in Temple Sowerby saw 20 bags of rubbish cleared and £350 raised in aid of two Appleby Grammar School pupils’ South Africa trips.

Jack Brunskill and Ava Lodge, both of Temple Sowerby, are in the midst of a fundraising drive to raise the money needed for their places on the school exchange trip.

Over the school holidays they organised a litter pick around the village and were helped by Jack’s mum Katie and brother Archie along with Ava’s mum Lisa and sister Sasha and friend Oliver Swindle.

Katie said people in the village have been supportive and were pleased with the effort. She also thanked Eden District Council which helped by providing the the litter picking equipment.
