Drugs found on unruly teenager

A TEENAGER who was swearing in the street outside Penrith police station in the early hours of Saturday was found to be in possession of class B and C drugs.

The 18-year-old woman, who is from the Penrith area, went to the station in Hunter Lane at around 3am “after a night of drinking”, according to officers.

A Cumbria Constabulary spokesman said: “We were notified by a member of the public of a very intoxicated female outside Penrith police station.

“We spoke to the woman who was using unsavoury language loudly in the street. Officers took her to Penrith hospital A&E as they were concerned for her welfare. There she was found to be in possession of class B and C drugs.”

Officers finished dealing with the woman at around 5am.

The quantity of drugs was not confirmed, and the incident is under investigation.
