Late night caller giveshomeowners a fright
A MAN who repeatedly tried to gain entry to the wrong house in the early hours of the morning pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly when he appeared at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday,.
Adrian Michael Delaney (37), Shap Wells Hotel, Shap, refused to believe the protests of Raymond and Audrey Kirkby that he was at the wrong house in the village and was actually staying next door.
As a result, he persistently banged on the door, making them fear that the glass was going to break, until Mrs Kirkby locked herself in the toilet and called 999.
The court heard that when police attended, Delaney still refused to calm down, acted aggressively towards the officer and then called 999 himself.
He was fined £100 for being drunk and disorderly at Main Street, Shap, on 4th April and was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
