Many hands make light work in park clean-up

Date: Monday 1st April 2019

MANY thanks for publicising our efforts (Herald, 23rd March) which helped us to conclude our work on Monday as we benefited from additional help, making a total of nine hardworking volunteers.

The children can now play safely again among the rabbits and birdlife of Wetheriggs Park after the second Monday morning’s litter and Highway waste collection.

A further 40 bags of litter plus highway waste was collected. This is in total more than 70 bags of litter collected on the last two March Monday mornings by local residents.

Eddie Ware and and Barrie Cheetham (joint co-ordinators) would like to thank all who took part in this difficult and thankless work over the last two Monday mornings. The area is now pristine, clean and hopefully can now be enjoyed by all.
