2,000 young footballers take over Frenchfield …

Date: Friday 7th June 2019

MORE than 2,000 young footballers took over the Frenchfield sports complex in Penrith at the weekend for the annual Cumberland FA Charter Standard Festival.

First staged in 2006, this popular fixture in the grassroots football calendar brings teams from across Cumberland to play in a fun and friendly event.

The festival, which sees boys and girls aged from under-7 to under-14 playing across 20 pitches, is a thank you from the Cumberland FA to FA Charter Standard clubs for their hard work and dedication throughout the season. Once again this year, pan disability players from local clubs were welcomed on Saturday.
