Penrith sign ex-England youth international
PENRITH AFC have announced the signing of ex-Middlesbrough and former England youth international Bruno Pilatos.
The 26-year-old Angola-born defender moved to the North East with his family as a toddler. He was a regular in the England youth set-up from the age of 15 when he played against Northern Ireland, in 2008.
"A highly regarded teenager at Middlesbrough, Bruno continued to show impressive performances in the national set-up at under-16 and under-17 level," a Penrith AFC spokesman said.
"He was subsequently called up to international duty with the England under-19 squad, playing against Slovakia despite being a year younger than the rest of his team-mates."
The spokesman added: "Everybody at Penrith would like to welcome Bruno to Frenchfield Park. We're excited by another fantastic addition to the Blues squad."
