A66 upgrade consultation launch
TRANSPORT Secretary Chris Grayling today launched a consultation on a planned £1 billion A66 upgrade.
Highways England is running the eight-week consultation into options for an upgrade of the trunk road between Penrith and Scotch Corner.
The investment includes a commitment to dualling the remaining 18 miles of single carriageway along the 50-mile route.
The media launch took place today at the Fox Hall Inn, Richmond, ahead of a series of public consultation events over the coming weeks, the first of which is taking place today at Gilling West village hall, near Richmond.
