Dangerous driving arrest

Date: Thursday 6th June 2019

AN Appleby man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop during a police chase on Wednesday evening.

The man, aged in his 30s, is in police custody after being arrested on Thursday morning.

Police have also put out an appeal for information after a Ford Transit failed to stop for police in Appleby while “driving dangerously”.

The white-coloured van failed to stop for officers at 7-45pm at Roman Road before heading off through Long Marton and returning through the area of Dufton.

A Cumbria Constabulary spokesman said: “It is believed that the vehicle may have collided with stationary vehicles in these areas. If members of the public find their vehicles damaged, or may have witnessed a white Transit van driving in a dangerous manner, should contact the police.”

People are advised to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting log number 0253 of 5th June 2019.
