Four children checked by paramedics after crash
A TWO-vehicle crash in the centre of Penrith briefly closed one of the town's main streets today.
A woman and four children including a baby were checked over by paramedics but did not suffered any serious injuries in the crash, which happened at 1-25pm.
Police and paramedics were called to Middlegate after a white Mitsubishi 4x4, driven by the woman, and a red Ford Focus driven by a man collided with each other.
A Cumbria police spokesman confirmed “the road was cleared within about 15 minutes of the collision”. Onlookers reported that emergency services remained on the scene for around 45 minutes.
An ambulance, a first aid quick response car and a police vehicle attended the incident on the one-way street.
