School campaigners take their fight direct to county councillors

LANGWATHBY School bus escort campaigners will be taking action on Wednesday in a bid to persuade county councillors to put the safety of children first and overturn a decision to impose redundancies.

With banners, posters and specially printed T-shirts, they will attend a meeting of the county council’s Eden local committee, at Redhills, near Penrith, to plead for the retention of escorts on the two school buses which take children aged 4-11 on journeys lasting up to 45 minutes on remote fellside roads.
