Cumbria YFC create video to support Newton Rigg

Young farmers from across Cumbria have joined together to make a heartfelt plea for Penrith’s Newton Rigg College to be saved from closure this summer.

It was revealed last year that York-based Askham Bryan College had decided to stop running courses there.

The young farmers voice their support for Newton Rigg in the video, produced by Neil Curr and Hazel Stansfield, of Hazel Stansfield Photography.

They detail the strong links between the Penrith college and the YFC movement, dating back many decades, and outline the benefits many of them have gained from taking one of the courses in farming and other land-based subjects it has offered.
