Barn fire at Temple Sowerby – 160 cows evacuated to safety

A fire has broken out at Temple Sowerby this morning where 160 cows have had to be moved to safety.

Six fire engines are in attendance at the blaze at West View Farm, Temple Sowerby.

A barn, containing 100 tonnes of hay and farm machinery, has been partly destroyed by the fire which remains well alight in farm buildings.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said they had been alerted to the incident at 8.34am.
