A Christmas tree has been erected outside Penrith’s town hall.
Donated by AW Jenkinson, the 27ft spruce has been decorated with lights by Amey.
Eden District Council chairman Andrew Connell, said: “I’d like to thank AW Jenkinson for so generously donating yet another magnificent tree to help us mark the festive season.
“This has been a difficult year for all of Eden’s residents, which makes the celebrations we have over the Christmas period, including Hanukkah, the Winter Solstice and New Year’s Eve, especially important and poignant.
“Thanks must also go to Amey for helping make the tree look its glitteringly glorious best with its bright white lights.
“On behalf of Eden District Council, I’d also like to take this opportunity to wish everyone in Eden a very happy Christmas and festive season.”
AW Jenkinson’s senior woodfibre manager, Simon Bullock, said: “AW Jenkinson is delighted to donate a Christmas tree for the town hall once again.
“Hopefully the sight of the tree and its twinkling lights will help lift everyone’s spirits a little after what has been a very challenging time for everyone in Penrith and far beyond.
“We send everyone our warmest wishes for a peaceful Christmas.”
