Eat Out to Help Out scheme to launch

More than 120 restaurants, bars and cafes across the North Lakes have signed up to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

The Government initiative, which starts on Monday, 3rd August, means diners who eat in from will benefit from a 50 per cent discount, up to £10, on food and non-alcoholic drinks, any Monday to Wednesday in August.

No voucher is required. Diners can take advantage of the offer as many times as they like during the month.

Establishments taking part will display stickers and posters alerting customers that they are taking part in the scheme.

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak said: “Our restaurants, cafes and bars play a vital role in our economy, employing more than a million people. They have been hit hard by coronavirus, so it’s vital we do everything we can to help them recover.

“Our Eat Out to Help Out scheme is designed to get more customers through the door – protecting jobs by giving businesses the confidence to retain and hire staff. More than 53,000 businesses across the country have already signed up.”

An online finder is available on the Government website gov.uk and people just have to enter their postcode or the postcode near where they want to eat out to find a list of participating eateries in a five-mile radius.

The finder is being updated constantly. So far, the venues listed include:
