A financial planning consultant has been appointed to Armstrong Watson’s Penrith office.

Paul Moody joins the firm’s financial planning and wealth management team after 12 years running his own successful practice in the town.

Paul, who has lived in Penrith for 20 years, said: “I am delighted to join such a prestigious forward-thinking organisation, having admired Armstrong Watson’s business and professionalism as an adviser, business owner and client over many years.

“Managing my own financial services business was a fantastic experience and a great challenge, but it did involve travelling to meet clients all over the UK.

“Home and family are very important to me, so when the opportunity came up to work within a great company like Armstrong Watson and use my experience to advise clients in my hometown, I decided to grasp it with both hands.

“I look forward to meeting new and existing clients over many years to come.”

Paul will work alongside senior financial planning manager Justin Rourke and will be supported by financial planning assistant Rebecca Nicholson, together with Toyah Harris, who supports Justin, in the Penrith team.

Justin said: “It is fantastic to be able to add to the team during what has been a testing time for so many of our clients and the community in Penrith and Eden.

“To be able to attract an experienced advisor with hands on experience of running his own business who is part of the local community is great for Armstrong Watson and our clients.

“Paul has fitted in seamlessly and is already an excellent addition to our team here in Penrith.”

Paul was appointed following a rigorous selection process to ensure Armstrong Watson’s high standards can be met.

Iain Lightfoot, joint managing director of Armstrong Watson, added: “We are thrilled that Paul has joined the Armstrong Watson at a time when there is a growing need for independent financial advice, within personal, private and public sectors.

“Having worked with Paul a number of years ago now I can also sincerely say that his wide-ranging capabilities and experience demonstrate we have brought an adviser of the highest calibre in to the business to help support our clients in and around Penrith.”
