Under current restrictions, it is highly unlikely that we will be able to hold Family Funtime over the Christmas holidays.
The East of Eden Mission Community Team do want to continue to keep in touch and offer help in any way we can and we have been trying to do this over recent months by delivering craft packs for families in the area.
At Christmastime, it is traditionally a time to think of the true meaning of Christmas and the plight of those less fortunate than ourselves.
Christingle services are held across the country to celebrate God’s gifts to us and the birth of Jesus and to donate what we can to the Children’s Society to help their support for families. More information about this can be found on www.christingle.org.
We can’t hold services this year but there is still a way to share Christingle. Teams across the Eden Valley are making up packs with all you need to make a Christingle candle. They will be distributed via schools in the area and the hope is that families will make them and light them and put them in windows on Christmas Eve.
There will be a Zoom service at 4pm, too. Sign in details will appear in next month’s Raven and will be included in the Christingle pack. We hope you like this idea to unite in lighting up the village and the Eden Valley in this way on Christmas Eve and you will join us in Christingle.
